Seven years into the sport of triathlon, Coach Bryan began by competing in sprint races, then completed numerous half ironman races, and is currently embarking on his fifth full Ironman as an age group competitor.

It’s his race resume at multiple distances that gives him the knowledge to help guide athletes to their goals in triathlon.

Coach Bryan has always been part of the Tribal Multisport family, beginning the first six years of his career as a coached athlete by the founder of Tribal Multisport, Coach Jon, from whom he has acquired much of his knowledge. Coach Bryan obtained his Ironman University certification in February 2017. “Obtaining the certification has given me more knowledge into a good periodization process, timelines, and a good athlete assessment process.”

“I’m a firm believer that the key to being successful in triathlon is consistency. You have to be willing to put in the time. My beliefs are consistent with the philosophies of most other Tribal Multipart coaches, but if you were to sum up my approach it would be Train Long Race Short. I believe this helps build good muscular strength and allows you to sustain speed over longer periods of time”

“Outside of racing and coaching, I have a full time professional career working in the technology industry. While training and racing is a big part of my life, we do this for fun and it is a hobby in the end. My passion is to help athletes reach that next goal while balancing it with their life outside the world of triathlon.”

Some of Coach Bryan’s racing highlights include:
– 2 x Ironman 70.3 World Championship qualifications and finishes (2014 & 2017)
– 19th place AG at 2017 Ironman Chattanooga (The 2017 race was deemed by Ironman the 2nd hardest in history – based on the DNF rate due to record breaking heat temperatures)
– Multiple sub 5 hour Half Ironman’s
